A Look Back at 2013

As the new year approaches, I always enjoy looking back at the past year and all the wonderful things that have happened. I've been extremely grateful for the growth that my business has seen and look forward to continuing in the right direction! I wouldn't have been able to do it without all my wonderful clients and the support of my family and friends. I really appreciate it all! If I told myself last December where I would be this December, I'm not sure I would believe it! It's incredible what happens when you really give yourself goals and push yourself (and having others push you as well) to do what you really love.

I've started to re-read a great book I bought in college, "How to Grow as a Photographer, Reinventing your Career" by Tony Luna. Right from the beginning he highlights all the questions & concerns I had about continuing my photography career and the fears and joys that come along with having your own business in a creative field. I think it's the perfect time to read this as I head into another year. The book was helpful in college, but makes even more sense after I've gained several more years of experience, which came along with plenty of challenges... some that I was prepared for and some that I wasn't. It's nice to read something that proves that I'm not the only one who struggles, but inspires me to face those challenges head on and go for it!

I've had an amazing year, so many beautiful weddings, family and senior portraits! ...Not to mention how lucky I feel to be able to capture the beautiful scenery that is Central PA.  I really look forward to seeing what new adventures lie ahead and all the new people I will meet and special moments I will get to share!

Thank you to all of my clients, past, present and future! I wouldn't be where I am today without you! Thank you to my family and friends who have continued to support my career and provided helpful advice... especially my parents and my brother and sister in law who made a lot possible that wouldn't have been otherwise without you!  Finally, the biggest thank you to my loving boyfriend who has pushed me the most, even when I didn't want to hear it!  I wish everyone all the very best in 2014!!! Cheers!
